While it’s still harvest time in Ischia’s vineyards, “Andar per cantine” (Walking through Cellars) returns, the eagerly awaited annual event showcasing the centuries-old rural culture of the island, the cradle of Magna Graecia. In the most suitable viticultural locations on the island’s various slopes, vineyards and cellars will welcome guests to the 17th edition, which from September 18th to October 5th will offer a rich and intriguing calendar of initiatives and events for wine enthusiasts. Once again, participants will be able to choose from a variety of options, depending on their preferences and expectations. They will be able to share the inspiration of the hilly itineraries with sea views and enjoy the breathtaking beauty of the landscapes,enhanced by the Mediterranean light from morning until the sumptuous sunsets, and by the nighttime magic of “Cantinando sotto le stelle” (Wine Tasting Under the Stars).Guardians of traditions and knowledge passed down through time, the ancient cellars carved into the tuff rock will provide the backdrop for tastings of the island’s finest wines, paired withthe genuine vegetables and fruits grown among the vines. And on the island, where the Coppa di Nestore has perpetuated the community ritual of the symposium for twenty-nine centuries, the Ischian toast, “...alla salute vosta!”, will resound everywhere.
The hikes are intended for those with minimal physical fitness. The hiking route may be modified at the guide's discretion.
